The Duobanda project made up of accordionist Vince Abbracciante and saxophonist Alessandro Palmitessa offers a splendid example of modernity and tradition capturing the listener with South American sounds and melodies inspired by the Apulian culture. Already active in concerts on the international scene, the Duobanda are constantly receiving growing public interest.
The CD and DVD include a series of compositions played mainly live and performed between Sardinia and Germany on the occasion of the Twins Ruhr 2010.
In the recordings we can meet famous personalities of Italian Jazz such as the pianist and accordionist Antonello Salis, the Sardinian folk singer Elena Ledda, the American jazz trumpeter Lewis Barnes, accompanied by talented musicians such as the German jazz pianist Laia Genc, the German percussionist Olga Mertens, the german classic singer Agnes Erkens, the Sardinian double-bassist Manolo Cabras, the Italian jazz guitarist Cosimo Erario and the saxophonist/clarinetist and creator of the project Alessandro Palmitessa.
Die Idee zur Gründung des Menschensinfonieorchesters hatte der Profimusiker Alessandro Palmitessa im Jahr 1999. Zusammen mit Pfarrer Hans Mörtter wurde diese Idee weiter gesponnen und entwickelt. Anfang 2001, nach zweijähriger "Gärzeit", gründeten Alessandro Palmitessa und Hans Mörtter, Pfarrer der Martin-Luther-Gemeinde in Köln-Süd, offiziell das Menschensinfonieorchester.
Die Grundidee des Projektes: Obdachlose und nicht obdachlose Musikerinnen arbeiten professionell zusammen.
Seit 1997 lebt Alessandro Palmitessa in Köln. Hier gründete er 2001 das "Menschensinfonieorchester", dessen Leiter und Arrangeur er ist. Das Menschensinfonieorchester wird (2001) von Südstadt-Leben e. V. getragen und wurde vom Sozialministerium des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen und dem Landesmusikrat NRW e.V. unterstützt (2001 -2003). Das Orchester bringt obdachlose Musiker mit Profi-Musikern zusammen - Nach der Veröffentlichung der ersten CD, auf der Gäste wie Markus Stockhausen, Helmut Zerlett und Klaus der Geiger mitwirken, erschien ein ausführlicher Bericht über das Menschensinfonieorchester in der Februarausgabe 2004 der Monatszeitschrift GEO.
The ethno jazz trio formed by Khoshaba, Palmitessa and Jazouli produces an ethnically inspired work that is linked to Iraqi and Iranian culture. The virtuosity of Khoshaba's oud, the lyricism of the saxophone and the meditative percussion of Jazouli lead the listener into a solar North African dimension.
The compositions written by Khoshaba and Palmitessa offer harmonies and melodies that are not complex but very effective in the trio context.

The music on the vinyl is inspired, composed and performed for a color film of an amateur silent film shot in Afghanistan in 1969 in super 8 by some Italian tourists on vacation. The silent film shows various landscape situations, mountains, countryside, lakes, rivers and towns of an Afghanistan still unaware of the future wars that would destroy it. The music intersects perfectly with the various scenarios that are presented through the sounds of Robab, Knee Fiddle, Saxophone, Baritone Acoustic Guitar and female voice, giving life to ample improvisational spaces stylistically different in terms of cultural origin and stylistic background.
